Energy Management
- Managing energy consumption by monitoring, measuring, targeting and reporting
- Working with suppliers on simplified billing and using energy management software to establish historical consumption data for a baseline comparison for future target setting
- Ensuring compliance with government targets for carbon reduction
- Installing renewable energy beginning with a 8kWp photovoltaic system in Guildford to reduce carbon

- Introducing a building management systems, double glazing and lighting controls where feasible
Waste and recycling
- Implementing waste and recycling contracts where the most amount of materials can be recycled on a site by site basis
- Reusing furniture where possible within the force alternatively using authorised furniture recyclers
- Securely shredding and recycling uniform and equipment.
Our travel
- Encouraging staff to use public transport and providing buses for staff transport from the town to our Headquarters site to avoid single car use
- Running a Lift Share scheme
