With effect from 1 April 2013 the national starting salary for police officers must be within the range of £19,000 to £22,000. Chief Constable Lynne Owens in conjunction with Kevin Hurley, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Surrey, has decided that the maximum starting salary of £22,000 will be paid. In addition to this, a South East Allowance of £2,000 per annum will continue to be payable for all new officers.
Constables' pay from 1 September 2014 for new entrants in England and Wales:
On starting with Surrey Police: 1
(a) Entry point for a member appointed in the rank of constable at Surrey Police
(b) Members will move to pay point 2 after 12 months at pay point 1 and progression will continue to be at a rate of one pay point per 12 months of service thereafter.
