West Surrey Police is appealing for information from members of the public who may recognise the description of a suspect they want to talk to in connection with a burglary in Merrow.

The man is described as white, possibly Eastern European, 6ft 2” tall, of a slim build and with a distinctive large nose. He has mid length dark hair, thick dark eyebrows, hollow cheeks and was clean shaven. He was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, blue jeans, a red t-shirt, green jacket and smart dark shoes. He was carrying a grey coloured satchel type bag.

The witness appeal follows a burglary on Thursday (28 January) at a property in Merrow Street, Merrow in which a 91-year-old’s wallet was taken from a kitchen table.

The dark brown wallet contained bank cards which were subsequently used locally.

Investigating Officer PC Andrew Skoglund said: “This would appear to be an opportunist crime and I would urge anyone who may recognise the description of the suspect or who may have seen a man acting suspiciously in the vicinity around the time of the crime between 12 noon and 6pm to contact Surrey Police.
