Man killed in collision on A320 identified

A 51-year old pedestrian who died in a collision on the A320 Woking Road on Monday morning (January 9) has been formally identified.
Paul Cooke of Guildford was in collision with a maroon Ford Escort travelling on the Woking Road towards Guildford while he was crossing the road around 6.55 am. Paul Cooke suffered serious head injuries and was taken by Surrey Ambulance to the Royal Surrey County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The A320 Woking Road was closed between the roundabout at the A3 slip-on and the Bell roundabout at Stoughton Road and re-opened after 12 noon.
The inquest was opened and adjourned on Tuesday afternoon (January 10).
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to ring the Collision Investigation Unit on 01932 569922.
