ASBO served to problem couple in Runnymede
A problem couple from Runnymede have been hit with an interim Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) banning them from drinking alcohol and begging in Surrey.
Trevor Davison, 29, and Kerri Turner, 20, who are both of no fixed address, were handed the ASBO at North Surrey Magistrates Court on Wednesday 18 November.
The couple are known to frequent a number of locations in North Surrey, including Egham, Chertsey and parts of Spelthorne.
Under the conditions of the ASBO both Turner and Davison are prohibited from:
1)Assaulting, harassing, alarming, intimidating, abusing or distressing anyone either verbally or physically in Surrey.
2)Not to carry or drink alcohol in any public place in Surrey or within the boundaries of any railway property in England and Wales.
3)Begging or seeking charitable donations, or inciting others to beg or seek charitable donations in Surrey or within the boundaries of any railway property in England and Wales.
4)Being on any property belonging to the railway network or travelling on any train in operation or otherwise within England and Wales.
The interim order is due to run from November 18 2009 until February 11 2010.
Karina van Dijk, the Anti-Social Behaviour Manager for North Surrey, said: “Trevor Davison and Kerri Turner have been creating an anti-social nuisance and blighting the lives of residents, not just in Runnymede but across North Surrey, for some time.
“This order will give those residents some respite and will allow us better control over their behaviour.
“We are determined to tackle those individuals who cause anti-social behaviour in North Surrey and I can assure Surrey residents we will continue to take robust action to tackle the concerns that matter most to residents.
“I hope that the community of Runnymede are reassured that their problems have been addressed and that the area is now a better, safer place to live."
Roger Nield, Neighbourhood Inspector for Runnymede, said: “I welcome this decision which hopefully means residents in areas such as Egham and Chertsey will see a reduction in the number of the anti-social behaviour incidents.
“Surrey Police is committed to tackling all forms of anti-social and criminal behaviour and we will continue to work with our partner organisations to help keep our neighbourhoods safe.”
