COMMUNITY AGAINST RACISM 5-Aside Tournament

On Friday 7th May Woking Borough Council, Surrey Police, Woking Community Relations Forum, Woking FC, Azzurri Sports & Leisure and Kick it out, in partnership, held a 5-a-side football tournament at Woking Leisure Centre . The tournament involved children from Years 7, 8 and 9 from the local schools. The event received considerable support from the PE staff and head teachers of the local schools, who provide over 20 teams to participate in the event, they were of mixed ability, and children of all cultural backgrounds and races took part. This event was a celebration of diversity among the schools and the partnership were delighted with the response.

The tournament was opened by the Mayor of Woking, it was a great success with players and spectators filling the hall. The children helped referee, as well local NSO PC Craig Matthews and Inspector Derek Laing who were on hand throughout the event.

The event clearly shows the unity of the community coming together to Kick out Racism.
