Eleven residents attended the first neighbourhood panel meeting for Beacon Hill last Tuesday evening (November 28).
The meeting was organised by local neighbourhood officer PC Damion Berridge at the British Legion Hall. Several issues were discussed during the meeting and residents voted overwhelmingly for dangerous parking outside and near to the school in Beacon Hill Road as issue they wish police to concentrate on.
Other issues raised during the hour long meeting included residents abandoning their wheelie bins on footpaths, cars parking on footpaths, speeding, mud on the Tilford Road, and the layout of a road junction on the Tilford Road. Youths gathering was also mentioned although this is not believed to be a current problem.
The next meeting of the Beacon Hill Neighbourhood Panel takes place in February where progress will be reviewed and a new priority chosen.
