Jewellery stolen following a smash and grab at Thames Ditton shop
Jewellery was stolen this morning (5 February) following a smash and grab at a Thames Ditton shop.
At about 11am two men riding a motorbike stopped outside Assimi jewellers in the High Street at Thames Ditton. Using a sledgehammer they smashed the front window of the shop and removed some jewellery.
They rode off at speed in the direction of Thames Ditton railway station before abandoning the bike in the area of Ash Path and Basing Way.
The first suspect is described as: a white man aged about 19 years, about 5’10” tall, of slim build, with short light brown hair, and wearing a grey hoody with the hood up. His accomplice is described as white, in his mid-20s, 5’10”, of slim build with dark brown hair.
The motorbike is a black scramble type 125cc bike, with gold and silver front suspension forks, and white writing on the seat. The registration number is GN08NWV.
Detectives are urgently seeking witnesses who may have seen the incident at the jewellers or who saw the dumping of the motorbike, or who may know who the offenders are or how they made good their escape after dumping the bike.

In connection with this incident one man has been arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.
