Neighbourhood Inspector

I was delighted when recently appointed as Guildford’s Neighbourhood Inspector — with responsibility for managing the Neighbourhood teams based in Guildford, Ash and Ripley. With 12 years policing under my belt this latest role presents a fresh and exciting challenge. I joined Surrey Police in 1997 after graduating with a Business Studies degree from Liverpool John Moores University. I began by working in North Surrey as a fast response TPT officer and in a proactive role targeting criminals involved in drug and burglary crime. Following promotion to Sergeant eight years ago, I took on various investigative roles, including CID. My most recent posts included working within the county’s major crime team with responsibly for investigating murders and other serious offences. Now, I’m looking forward to the challenges presented by this neighbourhood role and to working with partners and the community to help keep Guildford a safe, pleasant place in which to live and work. I am getting to know what makes the borough tick and seeing how the team tackles specific local issues.
