Surrey Police is dedicated to providing neighbourhood policing for your area. This page allows you to find out who your local team is and how to contact them. Meet your Neighbourhood Inspector Ailsa Quinlan
I have been Epsom and Ewell’s Neighbourhood Inspector since November 2004 and work with the community and our partners to ensure crime in Epsom remains low.
To help achieve this, every neighbourhood in the borough now has a dedicated team of Neighbourhood Specialist Officers (NSOs) and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), known as a Safer Neighbourhood Team.
Working with partner organisations to tackle anti-social behaviour has been a focus for the teams, and this joint approach has led to positive results.
A 'traffic light system' has been introduced in Epsom town which grades pubs and clubs green, amber or red depending on how safe they are. This system has helped reduce serious violence on the borough this year by 60% compared to 2007/08. Making Epsom town a safer place to spend your evening has been one of my priorities and our work with our partners such as the Borough Council, PubWatch and Street Pastors over the last few years has made a real difference to the feel of the town.
March 2009 will see the launch of the Police and Borough Council enhanced panel meetings. Members of the public will be able to attend their local Neighbourhood Police Panel Meeting as advertised on their local officers’ web page, and raise issues with their local councillor as well as their local Police officer.
