PS Wilcox Reigate & Banstead Community Safety Sergeant - My Neighbourhood - Surrey Police

PS Tracey Wilcox

Reigate & Banstead Community Safety Sergeant

I joined Surrey Police in December 1989 as a WPC at Dorking where I worked on the town centre area for two years. I then spent eight years on the Roads Policing Unit at Godstone. In 2000 I became a qualified Trainer at Headquarters in Guildford and was promoted to Sergeant in 2003. I moved back to the East Surrey Division, serving at Reigate as a Targeted Patrol Supervisor and Custody Sergeant.

I am the Community Safety Sergeant for the Borough of Reigate & Banstead, and have been doing this role since December 2008. I am in charge of the Community Safety Team which comprises the Licensing Officers who deal with licence applications and look after licensed premises such as pubs clubs and off-licenses, the Crime Reduction Advisor who offers advice on home and business security, the Casualty Reduction Officer who works with the Highways Agency to make the roads and road users safer in the borough and the Youth Affairs Officer and the Youth Police Community Support officers who work with schools and young people.

I am responsible for ensuring that Surrey Police work closely with partner agencies to reduce crime and disorder in the borough. The Safer Reigate & Banstead Crime and Disorder Partnership now consists of agencies such as the Police, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Surrey County Council, the Youth Justice Team, Surrey Fire & Rescue, Surrey Primary Care Trust, Surrey Alcohol & Drug Advisory Service (SADAS) and other local agencies and organsiations all working together to ensure that Reigate & Banstead is as safe as possible for everyone who lives, works and comes into the borough for leisure.
