Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities and general updates

Update: 30/06/2010 16:56:26

1. Numerous complaints about anti social behaviour in Weybridge High Street.
High visibility patrols were conducted in this area resulting in an arrest for public order before the public house had got through on the phone to report a fight.

2. Complaints received from the public about a local drunk male causing problems in Churchfield recreation ground.
Large amounts of alcohol were taken from this male using the section 13 power in force in Weybridge. We also arrested him for Robbery for which he has been charged. We have further arrested him for breaching his bail conditions.

3. Complaints received from local residents in Brooklands lane Weybridge about local youths from Heathside school entering their gardens and causing damage to property in break times.
Enquiries are on going in relation to the damage. Thanks to a close working relationship between the local Policing team and Heathside school a plan of action was implemented immediately which has stopped the problem. However we will continue to patrol this area to prevent anymore occurrences.

You Said:
There was a problem with a male supplying controlled drugs to teenagers in Churchfield Recreation ground Weybridge.

We Did:

As a result of the excellent description provided by the public we conducted numerous patrols in the area which resulted in a male being stopped. This male was found to be in possession of drugs and an offensive weapon. He was arrested and is currently on police bail.

You Said:

Further complaints had been received in relation to inappropriate behaviour on Desborough Island.

We Did:
We have secured funding to fence off an area where this has been taking place. This work will be carried out in the near future. This is the first part of a larger plan to improve the area.

You Said:
There were continuing problems with youths in and around the Old Palace Road area

We Did:

We have continued to patrol the area heavily and take appropriate action where it was needed. We have also been working closely with Elmbridge Housing Trust as bad behaviour is seen as a breach of tenancy agreements.
The behaviour in the area has improved considerably but to make sure it stays this way we will continue to work with our partner agencies and enforce problems when they occur.

You said:
You were concerned about the noise and anti social behaviour coming directly from the Weybridge Social Club.

We did:
We have been in contact with the management of the club in order for them to review their policies before we have to take matters further.
The club have made numerous changes in order to curb any anti social behaviour and we are keen that these changes continue.
The council have also been involved with regards to the complaints of noise coming from the club. This joint approach from the two agencies seems to have decreased the amount of incidents associated to the club.
If you witness or suffer from any problems from the club please report it on 0845 125 2222.

You said:
You were concerned by the ongoing problems being caused by a group of local youths in and around Weybridge town centre.

We did:
Unfortunately problems still exist within and around central Weybridge in relation to youth disorder. The team are working alongside Elmbridge Housing Trust and other landlords with a view to revoke families tenancies if the problems esculate further. If youths are causing problems some of their families may be breaching their tenancy agreements.

If you witness youths in the area causing problems please call us on 0845 125 2222 to help us deal with them appropriately if need build and to help us build the eveidence required which which be needed by landlords.

You said:
You were concerned by the number of people seen drinking alcohol in public.

We did:

Weybridge is still classed as a designated public place which means that it is an offence for anyone, regardless of age, to drink alcohol in a public place. The team are continuing to enforce this and as we have seen the weather improve our alcohol seizures have increased.
It is extremely important for the team to enforce this rule as it has a knock on effect of reducing criminal damage and public order incidents in and around the town.
