Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities and general updates

Update: 29/07/2010 10:13:01

You said… We did

You told us... at the recent neighbourhood panel meeting in West Horsley that poor parking in Kingston Avenue, East Horsley, was still a neighbourhood priority issue for the community.
We responded... by liaising with Guildford Borough Council's parking department to advise them this is still an ongoing issue.
We will update local businesses, the parish council and residents in an effort to reduce some of the parking issues. Patrols will be carried out at various times. Offending vehicles will be moved on and details taken. Warning notices and fixed penalty notices will be issued as appropriate. We will educate drivers to park safely and with due care and consideration for other drivers and pedestrians. Enforcement is used as a last resort.

You told us… that vehicles are speeding along Orestan Lane, Woodlands Road and Effingham Common Road in Effingham.
We responded… by stating that various speed checks will be carried out at these locations at different times of the week and these will be done covertly and overtly. We will also be liaising with the casualty reduction officer and the roads policing unit to assist.

You said…We did

You told us... parking issues outside school locations during pick up and drop off times in the village of Send are very busy and some drivers are parking inconsiderately, causing potential hazards to other highway users.
We responded by... patrolling the schools mainly during afternoon school finishing times ensuring that vehicles are parking legally and safely. Some drivers have been issued warnings in relation to the manner in which their vehicles have been parked and these patrols will continue until the end of this term.

You told us... that as a result of resident's responses in the Send Marsh area through the street a week initiative, speeding with particular focus along the Send Marsh Road has been identified as a local issue.
We responded by... carrying out covert speed checks to see if there is a genuine speeding issue and in response, a neighbourhood issue has been created. Local officers will be conducting overt speed checks throughout the location at random times and days to assist in decreasing the number of speeding vehicles using this road.

You told us… that parking in Ripley, with specific focus on the Rose Lane/High Street junction and at weekends during the farmers’ market, and parking in bus stops is a problem.
We responded… by conducting high-visibility patrols at various times seven days a week, recording vehicle details where necessary, using methods of education, giving warnings and issuing fines when and where required. The aim of these patrols, conducted jointly with Guildford Borough Council parking enforcement officers, is to ensure that the location is as safe as possible for all highway users including pedestrians and cyclists.

You told us... that poor parking in Station Parade, East Horsley, was a neighbourhood priority issue.
We responded... by liaising with Guildford Borough Council's parking department, local businesses, the parish council and residents in an effort to reduce some of the problems. Patrols have been carried out at various times. Offending vehicles have been moved on and details taken. Warning notices and Fixed Penalty Notices have been issued as appropriate. You told us… that there is anti-social behaviour and littering in - Effingham and that this is the issue that we should focus on.
We responded… by carrying out high visibility patrols and working alongside other partner agencies such as Guildford Borough Council and Effingham Parish Council as well as the Howard of Effingham school. Patrols conducted at different times of the day and night and at weekends aim to resolve this issue.
