Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities and general updates

Update: 01/08/2010 17:06:50

WORKING TOGETHER TO TACKLE ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

Your Local Safer Neighbourhood Team have recently carried out a series of letter drops around the Goodwyns Estate.

The letter drop, carried out in conjunction with Mole Valley Housing Association, was to encourage residents to report anti-social behaviour and allow the Police and partners to deal with it effectively

Both ourselves and MV Housing have received a good response and a series of actions are now in place to deal with residents who are a nuisance to the community

On 23/06/10 criminal damage was caused to a ground floor communal door at Linden Lea
One male has been arrested and is currently on bail
A second male is being sought by police

On 14/07/10 a nineteen year old male was involved in an incident of disorderly behaviour
He received an £80 fine for his actions

On 20/07/10 a twenty two year old male was identified from CCTV as having urinated in the communal lift at Linden Lea
He also received an £80 fine for his behaviour

We are committed to dealing with anti-social behaviour and we encourage residents to report incidents to either ourselves or the Housing Officer

Thank you for your continued support

LATEST UPDATES

YOU SAID

Anti-social behaviour on the Goodwyns Estate continues to be one of the main concerns for local residents

WHAT WE HAVE DONE

We have identified the ringleaders of a group involved in anti-social behaviour and, in conjunction with our partner agencies, taken action against those responsible

- A fifteen year old female has been reported for summons for an offence of Intentional Harassment, contrary to S4A of the Public Order Act

- A seventeen year old male has been found guilty of burglary, breaking into a shed at St Johns School, Dorking.
He is due to be sentenced on 30/06/10

- A fifteen year old female has been prosecuted by the Education Authority for failing to attend her place of education.
She has attended Court and been placed on a supervision order

We have also identified two addresses involved in persistent anti-social behaviour and we are working with Mole Valley Housing Association (MVHA) to deal with this issue.
One of the tenants has been given a formal warning by MVHA that if the behaviour continues then they could face further action, potentially leading to a loss of tenancy.

We are committed to dealing with residents concerns and we will continue to work in partnership to combat anti-social behaviour

STRAY DOG IN NORTH HOLMWOOD

During the past few weeks the local Policing team have neen working in partnership with the Mole Valley Dog Warden to locate a stray dog in the vicinity of Spook Hill

The dog is described as a male, black 'Staffy' type and has been seen several times on the green opposite The Cabin (McColls).

Although the dog has not attacked or caused injury to any person there is a cause for concern due to the animals demeanour.

At this stage we are stil attempting to identify the owner of the dog and we believe they live in the North Holmwood area.

If you are the owner of the dog or have any knowledge that may assist us, please contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222 or the Dog warden on 01306 879100

If you see the dog and it is acting in an aggressive manner, please call Police on 999

Thank you for your continued support
