Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities and general updates

Update: 20/07/2010 09:33:55

Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities

At the recent Banstead and Nork Meeting held on 2nd July 2010 eleven people attended - five residents from Nork and six from Banstead. Points were raised from the previous meetings and discussed. No issues were raised from the Nork residents but police have decided to concentrate on speeding, anti-social behaviour in Nork Park and criminal damage in the whole area.

Again there were no issues raised for the Banstead area. Police have decided to concentrate on criminal damage patrols due to recent car damage in the Banstead area.

Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities

Shopwatch is currently being rolled out to a number of stores on Banstead High Street and proving to be a success, with several shoplifters either being arrested or deterred. We are hoping to continue with the success of this scheme by adding more stores each month.

Speeding in Park Road is still being monitored by Community Speedwatch and Surrey Police's Roads Policing Unit which carries out checks in the area.

General update

The next Panel Meeting is on 2nd July at the Banstead Institute, High Street, Banstead at 7.30pm - remember IT IS YOUR CHANCE to raise any issue or concerns you have in your neighbourhood.

We are still experiencing problems with insecure vehicles being entered and items being removed. There has also been a slight increase in burglaries in the area. Patrols have been stepped up and crime prevention advice offered.

Speeding - Woodmansterne Lane: RB/10/9064
As a result of working closely with the Woodmansterne community, the Neighbourhood Issue of speeding in Woodmansterne Lane is now closed. A Community Speed Watch scheme run by local residents will soon commence which in an effort to monitor and control speeding vehicles passing through the village. If you can spare a few hours and would like to volunteer for the scheme, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.
