Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities and general updates

Update: 17/08/2010 16:19:32

You said…There were plenty reports about stolen goods being possibly stored in location in Chertsey.

We did…Based on those information from the residents, we managed to obtain search warrants at three different addresses from Magistrate court and when they were executed we had successful results.

You said…There were thefts committed in Chertsey town.

We did…We view the CCTV in shop involved and identified the offender who was arrested and charged within two days.

You said…There is a man knocking on doors offering to buy gold and jewellery

We did…We responded immediately but be aware, that though it might not be illegal, do not invite any person into your home unless they have an appointment.

Number of vehicles with more than one occupant: 15(One which had a small child which was unrestrained in the rear of the vehicle!)

You said: Irresponsible dog owners are using Gogmore Farm Park letting their dogs off of the lead resulting in other dogs being attacked and damage occurring to playground equipment.
We did: We met with the dog owners 06/07/10 to ascertain names and possible addresses of those believed to be responsible. Enquiries are on-going.

You said: Youths were gathering in all open spaces as a result of the hot weather and longer evenings.
We did: Increased patrols on foot and in vehicles during late afternoons and into the evenings. We have stopped numerous youths and moved them on. Our increased presence in these areas has resulted in a decrease in incidents occurring in these areas.

As a part of the year-long Drive SMART initiative Surrey Police and Surrey County Council are running a six week campaign to promote motorcycle safety. Members of our Active Citizen system will be receiving an e-mail giving further details of this campaign. If you aren't an active citizen and would like to be, or would like more information around this initiative then please don't hesitate to e-mail us on runnymedesnt@surrey.pnn.police.uk.

People were parking in an area designed as a turing circle on Riversdell Close.
We did:
Confirmed that the area was indeed built for turning. Contacted the council and asked them to put some signs up to tell people not to park there. This will be done and we will issue tickets to anybody who parks there

Profile: I have been the Police Community Support Officer for Chertsey Meads and St Anne's since April 2006. Before this I was a self employed facilities manager for ten years, and was responsible for managing the maintenance of properties.
I began to look around for a new job, I wanted something that could be my last job so I thought about what I enjoy in life, meeting people, walking and being outside, and then saw this role advertised which met the criteria perfectly.
What I enjoy about my role is, meeting people, helping to solve their problems and reassuring them. I have got to know the local community that I work in and like to feel a part of it.
