General update
Dear Residents
We are pleased to report that it has been fairly quiet, crime wise, in Englefield Green over the past few weeks. Long may this continue.
We must not be complacent and we urge you to be vigilant and report any suspicious persons and vehicle. If you can obtain the registration number of any vehicle without drawing attention to yourself that would be most helpful
Remember to keep doors locked and windows closed when you are out, even the small fanlight windows through which prospective intruders could lean in and open others.
Regularly check the boundaries of your property for any sign of entry and make sure those garden sheds and outbuildings are kept locked and secure.
Royal Holloway students return in a months time and already some are moving into the Community. The College is advising students to make themselves known to their neighbours and we fuly support this course of action. If you have any problems with noisy students or other residents please report the incidents straight away and do not suffer in silence
The College have an established policy on bringing motorcars to the area directed at those living on campus. Surrey Police support this and the College will be enforcing the policy at the beginning of the term.
The annual Freshers Fayre will be attended by Runnymede Borough Council and the Police where we will continue our engagement with and advice to the student body.
We welcome back fellow Police Community Support Officer Carole Lawford who returns after her epic cycle ride from London to Rome, some 1,270 miles in support of Water Aid. All that way and not 1 puncture between her fellow cyclist and herself. We are hoping there will an article about Carole's trip in the local paper, please look out for it.

Profile: I have been in the role of PCSO since January 2006. I spent a year working in Pooley Green, Hythe and Thorpe before transferring to Englefield Green.
Prior to working for Surrey police my career was varied, working in retail, catering and IT as well as raising 3 children.
Since my family have grown up and now have agendas of their own, I have been able to be more selfish with my spare time.
I enjoy helping to run a Guide Unit where I live, which gives me the opportunity to enjoy a range of outdoor activities as well as spend time with a fabulous group of youngsters – I would recommend it!
In 2008 I took up the challenge of cycling from John O’ Groats to Lands End with my friend and fellow Guide Leader. We achieved our goal - raising over £2000 for Water Aid.
Our next challenge is to cycle from London to Rome in summer 2010.
Ian Scott, John Cundy and I work closely to be an effective team with differing and complimentary strengths, focusing on anti-social behaviour
