Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities

YOU SAID : PLEASE ADDRESS THE SPEEDING AND PARKING ISSUES OUTSIDE OUR SCHOOLS ..

WE DID :

We have been involved with SCHOOL SPEEDWATCH DAYS with Year 6 at St Ann's Heath Junior School and Year 3 at Christ Church Infant School. This involved teaching the children about the equipment used for speeding enforcement. Police then stopped any vehicles driving over the limit and the children asked the driver a series of questions related to speeding issues.

We were also asked to attend Christ Church School to monitor the parking during their sports day recently. Along with the council enforcement officer penalty tickets were issued for vehicles parked on the double yellows in Christchurch Road and in Woodside Way where officers felt vehicles were obstructing access to residents driveways.

YOU SAID : THERE ARE PARKING ISSUES ON A30 CLEARWAY LONDON ROAD BY VIRGINIA WATER LAKE

WE DID :

We have just held a 'DriveSmart' Weekend at the Lake. Last Saturday and Sunday (26th/27th) we had officers holding a roadshow to explain and educate visitors surrounding the issues with parking incorrectly on the clearway. Officers regularly patrolled the A30 and issued 14 Fixed Penalty Tickets during the weekend. While we were at the park we also security marked approximately 60 bikes. This was free if charge and was well received.

General update

We have had a number of reports that people are drinking alcohol, lighting fires and leaving litter behind on Coronation Field. NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED TO BE CONSUMED ON THE FIELD BY ANYONE OF ANY AGE. Everyone should be able to enjoy using this community facility without intimidation or disturbance. Please report any incidents to Surrey Police on 0845 125 22 22.

General update
There have been sightings of mini motorbikes going across the green on Sandhills Lane round the back to the lake, if anyone sees these bikes please contact us as the riders of these bikes often do not wear helmets and the noise they produce causes annoyance with local residents
At this time of the year it is likely we will see more of these mini motorbikes and it is important that members of the public call us as the bikes are a danger to those riding them and other people that use the area
