You were concerned about the anti social use of motorbikes being ridden around stanwell on the main road and in and around the recreational grounds.

We did:

We have identified a number of youths that have been riding motorbikes around the stanwell area they have been reported to court for a number of traffic related offences
We will continue to tackle the anti social use of motorbikes and offenders identified found riding anti socially on the road will be reported for any traffic related offence found to be committed.
Those found to be ridden in the parks and recreational grounds will be issued with section 59 warnings if a section 59 has been issued within the last 12 months then the motorbike will be seized.

We have at the moment two quad bikes being ridding around the area if anyone is able to help us identify the riders please contact any of the members of the snt or call in on 0845 125 2222

general update

Sunday 8th August 2010 was the first year of the Stanwell fun day which was organised by PC Charlesworth and Spencer Taylor with help from Mandie Wilde and Brian Kingston from Spelthorne Council
The day was a great success and was well attended by the local community
The Stanwell SNT would like to thank everyone who took part in organising and running the event making it a great day.
We would also like to thank everyone who donated money or prizes for the raffles including Focus DIY in Ashford who very kindly donated a set of garden furniture worth over £250 pounds. Staff from Focus attended the event to set up the prize and kindly offered to deliver the garden furniture to the lucky winner. T5 store in Stanwell Moor donated £100 pounds which was used to purchase the prizes for the raffle. Lodge Brothers in Ashford very kindly donated a large fruit basket which will keep the winner supplied with fruit for the next couple of weeks. A lovely bunch of flowers was donated by Ashford Flowers which smelt wonderful.

One of the main attractions on the day was the climbing wall which was brought along by youth services, through out the day there was a steady stream of eager climbers wanting to scale the wall. The 3 in 1 shop in Stanwell kindly donated the prizes for the dog show which went down well with the winning dogs and owners there were some great entries in the best dressed dog categories.

One again thank you to everyone who took part in the fun day we hope next year will be bigger and better!

Stop Press (20/5/2010): Neighbourhood Consultation

Where would you like to meet your Safer Neighbourhood Team? What about your local supermarket or library? Would you prefer to meet them out on patrol? Or are there other potential meeting places you can think of?

We are looking for your ideas for the easiest and most convenient places to meet your Neighbourhood Policing Team, after surveys carried out over the past month show that many people are not using their local police stations.

You can read more about our plans, and give us your ideas through our online survey, here.

There are continuing problems with mini-motos and scrambler bikes in the parks around Stanwell

We did:

The Safer Neighbourhood Team have spearheaded an operation encompassing the Roads Policing unit, the Tactical Patrol Teams, the Tactical Neighbourhood Team, and the Surrey Police airborne unit, to try to tackle this problem. This has met with considerable success with a number of people being issued with Section 59 vehicle warnings for anti-social use of motor vehicles, a number of motorbikes seized under Section 165 legislation for no insurance, and two individuals reported to court for a number of offences. This will send out a strong message to the offenders in the community that the riding of these bikes in our parks and on our roads will not be tolerated and we will continue to deal robustly with anyone found to be acting in this manner. We would encourage any residents who see people using these bikes to report it in to Surrey Police at the time, and to attempt to get any registration details, or descriptive details of the bikes and riders, as it is not necessary for the police to be on the scene there and then to deal with offenders – many warnings have been given by visiting the offenders at home after the offence once they have been identified.
