Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities and general updates

Update: 29/06/2010 16:47:21

You Said... We Did

You told us... that untaxed vehicles had been abandoned in Roffords, Marston Road and Brookfield.
We responded... by patrolling those locations and gathering evidence that enabled us to liaise with Woking Borough Council and the DVLA. This resulted in the vehicles being removed (either taxed and parked appropriately or taken off the highway).

You told us... that a daytime Neighbourhood Panel meeting would be preferable for some residents.
We responded... by arranging a NEW panel meeting for Monday, 5 July 2010 at the Lakeview Community Hall - starting time 1.00pm.

As always, the Safer Neighbourhood Team encourages all Goldsworth Park residents to report any incidents of crime or anti-social/suspicious behaviour that you see or may be aware of. Such reports help us to help and support the community. The more evidence we can gather, the more we can put resources into tackling the issues that affect you.

• In an emergency, call 999
• To report an incident, call 0845 125 2222
• Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 1111

You said... We Did

You said... “Parents dropping off and picking up children outside Sythwood Primary School have been parking dangerously and on zigzag lines."
We responded... by making regular patrols outside the school during peak morning and afternoon times. These patrols have been conducted by your Safer Neighbourhood Team and officers from the Roads Policing Unit who have been tasked to deal with parking offences at this location.

You told us... “The public toilets on Wishbone Way have been subject to criminal damage and vandalism.”
We responded... by highlighting vandalism in Wishbone Way as a Neighbourhood Priority and we made regular high-visibility foot patrols in the locality. As a result, several individuals have been stopped and spoken to, and two have been issued with anti-social behaviour warning letters.

Energy company representatives
Some local people told us they were wary of the presence of energy company representatives calling at homes on Goldsworth Park in the past couple of weeks. We have looked into this and can confirm that both Scottish Power and EDF have had genuine represetatives in the area. But please continue to be wary of possible bogus callers at your door and do inform the police if you are concerned.

Neighbourhood Priorities
The Safer Neighbourhood Team is continuing regular high-visibility patrols in our priority hotspot areas (see list on the right). As a result we are seeing a reduction in reports from those locations.

If you are aware of any issue that has not been reported in these places, or anywhere else on Goldsworth Park, please call it in so that we get a true picture of occurences in the area.

Reminder: Brookfield Estate Walkabout
The Goldsworth Park Safer Neighbourhood Team and Woking Borough Council will be holding a Walkabout in the Brookfield area on Monday, 17 May at 5.00pm.

Arrests made
The Safer Neighbourhood Team has successfully had three people arrested in the past couple of weeks. We also recovered had a stolen vehicle in the Goldsworth Park area.

Be Aware!
When leaving your vehicle unattended, please do not leave valuables on display inside it. Remove sat-navs and their holders abecause these are particularly attractive to thieves. Also wipe those telltale suction marks from your windscreen, where possible.

As the summer weather approaches, please remember to fully secure your premises and ensure your home is as safe as possible. Whenever we see insecure vehicles or houses, we do our utmost to inform the owner so they are less likely to become a victim of crime.

Reporting in
As always, we urge you to please report any incidents of crime or suspicious behaviour on either of these numbers:
• In an emergency call 999
• To report an incident call 0845 125 2222
• Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 1111

If you would like to speak to an officer informally face-to-face, please come along to one of the Surgeries listed in the Meeting Point panel on the right.

Thank you
