Actions taken on your neighbourhood priorities and general updates

Update: 26/07/2010 08:57:24

You Said… We Did

You said… that Yorkstone was being stolen from the area. Due to the high value of this commodity, there are concerns that this will continue.
We responded… by marking-up residents property with DNA Selecta kits as a deterrent to would-be criminals.

You told us… that speeding is a problem throughout the area.
We responded… by arranging speed enforcement days at random locations throughout Knaphill and Brookwood. We will publish the results as soon as possible after each of these exercises takes place.

You said… drug dealing was taking place in a particular area of Knaphill.
We gathered… intelligence from members of the community. A warrant was carried out and two people were arrested for possession with intent to supply.

Knaphill Neighbourhood Panel Meeting
The next Neighbourhood Panel Meeting for Knaphill residents is scheduled for Thursday, 5 August 2010 at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Chobham Road, Knaphill, from 7.30-8.30pm. If you can’t make it to the meeting then please pop along to one of our Surgeries, listed in the Meeting Point panel on the right. Hope to see you there!

Summer Holidays
Now that school has broken up the Safer Neighbourhood Team will be focusing patrols in recreation grounds and woodland areas in Knaphill and Brookwood. We ask residents to remain attentive to woodland areas for any fires being lit. This obviously poses a threat if not be properly controlled or extinguished.

If you see anything suspicious in an emergency dial 999 or a non-emergency dial 0845 125 2222 where you can speak to a Safer Neighbourhood Team officer.

Thank you

You said… We Did

You said… there are concerns around Inkerman Way, Bingham Drive and roads leading off these streets with regard to cars being 'keyed' and damaged in other ways.
We have... identified a possible suspect and will continue to monitor this lead and carry out further enquiries. We will also maintain a high visibility presence in the area late at night.

You told us… of your concerns about speeding in Chobham Road and Lane End Drive
We responded... by carrying out enforcement in conjunction with Knaphill Junior School, resulting in words of advice given to 50 motorists.

Brookwood Panels
Due to the low turnout at the last two Neighbourhood Panel meetings, we have decided to amalgamate the Knaphill and Brookwood Panel Meetings. They are now scheduled as follows:

If you can’t make either the Panels or Surgeries then come to the Knaphill Residents Association Village Event, at Mizen's Railway, Knaphill on Saturday, 17 July between 2.00-5.00pm. Bring the kids along and let them enjoy sitting in a police car, help yourself to some of our free crime prevention goodies or just have a chat!

Hope to see you there!

You said… We Did

You said… there are concerns around Inkerman Way, Bingham Drive and roads leading off these streets with regard to cars being 'keyed' and damaged in other ways.
We responded… by making this a Neighbourhood Priority Issue. We have increased patrols and tasked our response teams to carry out high-visibility patrols at night time and to stop anyone seen acting suspiciously. We ask residents to remain vigilant and to contact us if you see anything suspicious.

You said… there are anti-social behaviour problems affecting residents in Nursery Road.
We have responded so far… by dealing robustly with problem individuals and increasing high-visibility patrols on foot and in cars. This will continue.

You Said… you would like to have a different Surrey Police representative at your Panel Meeting.
We responded… by inviting RPCSO Dan Thomas to answer your traffic-related concerns at a future meeting.

Panel Meetings
Thank you to the residents who attended our Knaphill Panel meeting at Winston Churchill School on Thursday, 3 June. There are concerns around using the school as a meeting location. The Safer Neighbourhood team is reviewing this and will give feedback at the next meeting.

You said… you wanted a continued focus on school parking enforcement and educating school children on road safety.
We responded… by saying we would continue to focus on Chobham Road and will invite the Fire Service to carry out joint enforcement at St John's School and schools on the Hermitage estate.

You said… that lorries above the legal size are travelling through Knaphill village.
We responded… by saying that the company of any repeat offenders will be contacted and advised.

You said… with summer approaching to be vigilant on Sheets Heath, Alexandra Gardens and Waterers Rise.
We responded… by assuring you that this would be a top priority throughout the summer and all issues will be dealt with robustly.
