Accelerated Hearing Outcome – Former Officer, Justin Strokosz
On Monday the 4th of November 2024, an Accelerated Hearing took place for former Police Constable Justin Strokosz to answer an allegation in relation to parading on duty having driven to work whilst under the influence of alcohol.
The former officer was charged and convicted at court with the offence of driving over the prescribed limit of alcohol (S5 RTA 1988).
The alleged breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour were in respect of, Fitness for Duty; Duties and Responsibilities and Discreditable Conduct.
The Chair conducting the proceedings found that the allegations did breach the Standards of Professional Behaviour at a level of Gross Misconduct. Therefore, the determination was had the officer not resigned, he would have been dismissed.
Officers and staff are reminded of their obligation to uphold the standards of professional behaviour and work within the remit of the law, to avoid bringing the reputation of Surrey Police and policing into disrepute, which in turn undermines public confidence in the Force.
