Misconduct Hearing Outcome – Former Officer 2460 PC Anscombe
A police officer has been dismissed following a misconduct hearing.
The hearing in relation to former Police Constable Tina Anscombe was held at Surrey Police Headquarters on the 5th and 6th November 2024 and was heard by a panel chaired by a Legally Qualified Chair.
PC Anscombe resigned prior to the hearing and did not attend to answer allegations that she had maliciously and in bad faith made an anonymous NSPCC referral regarding the child of a female who had had an extra marital affair with her then husband. The referral was made in order to be abusive, oppressive, harassing, bullying, victimising and/or offensive to the female. Additionally, the referral was made knowing to contain false and misleading information and in making it without identifying herself as a police officer, she failed to identify genuine concerns to appropriate officers.
The panel found that the officer’s actions amounted to gross misconduct and breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Honesty and Integrity, Authority Respect and Courtesy, Duties and Responsibilities and Discreditable Conduct. It was determined that former officer PC Anscombe would have been dismissed had she still been serving and was placed on the College of Policing Barred List.
