CCTV image released after young mother assaulted at Haslemere supermarket

Surrey Police is appealing for the public’s help in identifying the man in the CCTV image in connection with an assault at a Haslemere supermarket in June.

The assault took place inside Waitrose on 29 June around 11am.

A man attempted to befriend a young mother with two young children outside the store before following them around once they were inside. He then tried to grab the woman’s wrists, causing some bruising.

He did not speak English and used his phone to translate a conversation with the woman. He is described as around 5ft 10 tall, of a large build with olive skin, short dark hair which was balding on top, a plump face, a large hooked nose, hazel eyes and stained teeth.
