Did you see a fight outside the King’s Head pub in Shepperton last night?
We are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an assault outside the King’s Head pub in Church Square off Chertsey Road, Shepperton last night (Monday 7 May) around 11.35pm.
It appears that two local men had been drinking in the pub prior to the altercation. They both then went outside where a fight occurred. One of the men, who was in his forties, suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to St George’s Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
A 31-year-old man from Shepperton has been arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 31-year-old man from Shepperton has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They are currently in custody.
DS Mark Green said: “This was a serious assault that took place in a busy area outside the King’s Head pub in Shepperton. We have made two arrests and at this time no further suspects are being sought. However, we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the men drinking in the King’s Head beforehand or saw what happened outside in the area of Church Square/Chertsey Road.”
