Did you witness series of violent assaults in Walton and Molesey?

Officers in Elmbridge are appealing for witnesses to three reports of violence in Walton-on-Thames and West Molesey that are believed to be linked.

The first assault and attempted robbery happened at around 9.30pm on Tuesday 11 October in Mayfield Road, Walton-on-Thames. A 15-year-old boy was walking from Walton station down the alleyway on Mayfield road when two boys approached him, got him in a headlock and hit him in the face before going through his pockets. Nothing was reported stolen but the victim sustained superficial facial injuries.

The second assault happened the following day, Wednesday 12 October at around 12.50pm.  A 15-year-old boy was approached by two males in Down Street in West Molesey and punched in the face numerous times.

The third assault happened later that day at around 8.30pm. Officers received reports that a 15-year-old boy was attacked by four men with a hammer in Beech Close. The victim was taken to hospital to have stitches as a result of his injuries. 

PC Fran Swankie from Elmbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I believe that these three incidents are linked and I am keen to hear from anybody who witnessed the violence or with any information.

“We believe these incidents are targeted and at this stage there is nothing to suggest that there is any threat to the wider community.”

  • A 50 year old man and two 15-year-old boys were arrested in connection with the incidents and have been released on bail until 4 November and 6 November pending further enquiries.
