We are appealing for witnesses following a report that a woman in her 30s was sexually assaulted at the park near Millmead Lock in Guildford.
The incident took place between 11.30pm on Monday 21 September and 12.30am on Tuesday 22 September.
Officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries this week to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The suspect is described as being tanned with a beard and dark hair.
Detective Inspector Deborah Birch, who is investigating the incident, said: “We have been carrying out various enquiries to try and piece together what took place. I would like to reassure the local community that we are doing everything possible to ensure that this matter is thoroughly investigated. The victim is also being provided with the appropriate support.
“As part of these enquires, we would like to speak to anyone who was in the Millmead Lock area during those times on the 21 and 22 September and saw or heard anything suspicious. Your information could be vital to this investigation so please get in touch.
