Six people, arrested during a summer crackdown on drink and drug-drivers, can now be identified having been convicted in court.
A total of 97 arrests were made in Surrey during the operation between 11 June and 11 July, which was run in addition to our routine roads policing duties 365 days year.
Police carried out dedicated patrols to tackle one of the five most common causes of fatal and serious injury collisions, through education, engagement and enforcement.
Of the 97 arrests, the following six people have so far been convicted:
Luke Shedden, 21, of Leys Road, Oxshott, was arrested on Warrens Lane, Oxshott, on 11 June, and was charged with driving with 41mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. At Staines Magistrates’ Court on 28 June, he was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and £34 in victim surcharge.
Pawel Wepryk, 38, of New Acres, Wokingham, was arrested at Thorpe Park on 13 June, and was charged with driving with 81mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. At Staines Magistrates’ Court on 28 June, he was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £311 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and £34 in victim surcharge.
Katherine Fox, 31, of Manor Park, Houghton Regis, was arrested on The Avenue, Egham, on 14 June, and was charged with driving with 83mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. At Staines Magistrates’ Court on 28 June, she was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £575 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and £57 in victim surcharge.
Daly DeBoer, 36, of School Lane, Addlestone, was arrested on Prarie Road, Addlestone, on 16 June, and was charged with driving with 72mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. At Staines Magistrates’ Court on 5 July, he was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £120 and order to pay £85 in costs and £34 in victim surcharge.
Kevin Cook, 57, of Langhams Way, Woking, was arrested on the same road on 16 June, and was charged with driving with 140mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. At Guildford Magistrates Court on 17 July, he was disqualified from driving for three years, fined £461 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and £95 in victim surcharge. He was also ordered to complete a rehabilitation order.
Bryony Mulhearn, 24, of Penfold Croft, Farnham, was arrested on the Hogsback A31 on 27 June, and was charged with driving with 102mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system. At Guildford Magistrates Court on 13 July, she was disqualified from driving for 23 months, ordered to attend a rehabilitation course, given a community order, fined £120 and ordered to pay £95 in victim surcharge.
