We are appealing for witnesses after members of the public were hit by a car following an event at Lingfield Racecourse last night (31 July).
Officers were called shortly before 11pm following reports that a car had driven into pedestrians who were leaving the racecourse following an event. Three people have been taken to hospital with injuries not deemed to be life-threatening.
A number of officers were in attendance accompanied by the ambulance service and assisted by event staff.
No arrests have been made yet and enquiries are ongoing.
Chief Inspector Dan Gutierrez said “We would like to reassure the public that this incident is not believed to be terror related.
“We know that there were thousands of people in attendance at this event and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any dashcam footage of the lead up to the collision to get in contact with us.”
