We are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Reigate yesterday evening (Monday, 19 July).
Officers were in the nearby area when they responded to people shouting in Morrisons car park, Bell Street, Reigate between 6 and 6.30pm. Officers spoke to members of the public who reported that a dark-coloured Ford was involved in a collision with a pedestrian and was seen leaving the car park without stopping. Fortunately, the pedestrian was only left with minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and aggravated bodily harm. He is currently in custody and enquiries remain ongoing.
