Main article content
We are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery of a man on Sunday (12 September), outside HSBC at Waterloo Road in Epsom.
At around 1am the victim was on a night out with his friend when he saw two men on a moped riding through Epsom town centre. The moped stopped outside HSBC and the victim and his friend went to speak with the suspects.
One of the men on the moped grabbed the victim’s left wrist to take his watch, while the other man pulled a knife out from his left-hand side pocket.
The moped driver is described as White, 6ft tall, of an average build and was wearing a black motorcycle helmet. The passenger was also described as White and shorter than the driver. Both men were dressed all in black with balaclavas on under their helmets, and were believed to be wearing black Nike 95 trainers.
The moped was black and had no VRN on the rear.
At around midnight on the same day (12 September), a moped that matched the description above failed to stop for police entering the Epsom area. Both occupants were wearing black clothing.
