We have received an increased number of reports of anti-social behaviour along by the River Thames in Staines recently.
Due to this, a Dispersal Order covering an area which can be seen in the attached map, has been put in place under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Act, which gives us the power to ask people to leave the dispersal area if they are committing anti-social behaviour, or if we believe that they may, or are likely to, cause nuisance to someone else.
The order provides us with these powers between the hours of 3pm on Friday, 29 October and 2am on Saturday, 30 October; 12noon on Saturday, 30 October and 2am on Sunday, 31 October; 12noon on Sunday, 31 October to 2am on Monday, 1 November.
Patrols will be increased and will be focused on this area during these times.
Spelthorne Borough Commander, Maxine Cilia, said: “Unfortunately we have had to make a request to have a Section 35 Order put in place due to the ongoing anti-social behaviour of certain individuals. We need to think about the local community who have been impacted by the behaviour in recent weeks.”
We would urge members of the public to continue reporting any incidents of anti-social behaviour to us on 101.
