Main article content
We are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with serious injuries following an assault in Epsom earlier today (23 September).
We were called around 11.25am following reports that a 20-year-old man had been found with stab wounds to his chest in Blenheim Road.
He has been taken to hospital. His condition is currently described as serious but stable.
A 19-year-old man from Kingston-upon-Thames has been arrested this evening in connection with this investigation.
A number of roads, including Blenheim Road and Almond Road, remain closed while we carry out further enquiries.
The air ambulance was also in attendance although the victim was taken to hospital by road.
Epsom and Ewell Borough Commander Inspector Jon Vale said: “Given the large police presence in the area, I would like to reassure local residents that we are doing everything we can to establish how this man sustained these injuries and identify the person responsible.
“We are appealing to people who live in the vicinity of the assault to come forward if they have not spoken to us already, as they may have vital information which could help us to progress our investigation.”
