We are appealing for witnesses after a police patrol car was hit by a vehicle making off at speed in Shepperton on Wednesday morning (January 12).
The officers were out on patrol at around 5.25am when they came across two vehicles parked on the side of the road in Walton Lane; a Range Rover and a large saloon vehicle believed to be a dark coloured Audi A6.
As they pulled up alongside they both made off at speed, colliding with the police vehicle. No officers or members of the public were injured in the collision.
A Range Rover was discovered shortly afterwards abandoned a short distance away. Officers made enquiries which revealed it had been stolen off the driveway of a nearby house close to where they were initially seen.

Surrey Police advises owners of ‘keyless’ cars to store their keys in a metal tin, or ‘faraday pouch’, ideally away from the entrance to the house. There is further advice on our youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXao5FN-mHM
