We are appealing for witnesses following a hate crime incident in Redhill.
Officers were made aware of a report of a hate crime that took place on the junction between Bakers Court and Brighton Road in Redhill at around 1:45pm on Monday, 24 January. The victim was driving a silver Honda Civic and was blocked by road works and a van when he was trying to turn onto Brighton Road. The victim signalled to the driver of the van, an Iveco Daily Dropside lorry van, asking him to move. The passenger of the van then came up to the victim’s car window and became verbally aggressive, using racist language. He also spat on the vehicle.
The suspect is described as White, male and was wearing a high-vis jacket and black jumper.
