Witness appeal following spate of Guildford burglaries

We're asking for witnesses following a number of break-ins around the Guildford area on Monday 7 February 2022.

Officers were called after a property in Glaziers Lane, Normandy was broken into at around 2.30pm by forced entry at the rear door.

Also on Monday 7 February, sometime between 5:20pm and 6pm an address in Cumberland Avenue, Worplesdon, was targeted but the offender/s were disturbed by the homeowners and fled.

On the same day a house on Lilac Close, Bellfields and another house in Holly Lea, Jacobs Well were also broken into.

As more people return to the workplace, officers are advising people to be alert to home security and take as many precautions as possible.

• One man has been charged with one count of burglary to appear in court on 17 March 2022 and a second man has been arrested and released under investigation as enquiries continue.
