We are appealing for witnesses after a delivery driver was sprayed with an unknown substance and then robbed of parcels, in Ashford this morning (23 April).
The incident occurred at the junction between Village Way and Parkland Grove at just after 7am this morning, and involved four men approaching the victim, spraying his eyes and pining him to the ground. They then searched his Mercedes Sprinter van and took some of the parcels before fleeing the scene.
There was a large number of emergency services at the scene, but officers believe the spray to have been some sort of irritant spray and there is no wider risk to the public. The victim has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
Investigating Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or have any further information or dashcam footage to contact us. If you can help, please contact us quoting PR/P22084114 via:
