Jason Kennedy, 51, of Church Road, Aldershot, pleaded guilty to supplying a class A drug, and possession with intent to supply a class A drug at Guildford Crown Court on Friday, 24 June.
Kennedy was caught dealing drugs in his car on Thursday, 8 July 2021 by Surrey Police officers in an unmarked police car. Kennedy drove into a car park in Guildford, where a man was seen getting into the passenger side of the vehicle, and then getting out again moments later.
The officers suspected a drug deal had taken place, but when they approached the car, Kennedy spotted them, and drove off at speed. Officers pursued Kennedy, who then stopped, and was detained. When Kennedy was searched, he was found to be in possession of a large quantity of class A drugs.
Kennedy pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in prison at Guildford Crown Court on Friday, 22 June.
PC Andy Tindale, who investigated the case, said: “Our officers were able to react quickly to catch Kennedy and gather the evidence needed to convict him.
“Drug dealers have no place in Surrey, and we will continue to disrupt drug dealing across the county. If you suspect drug dealing in your area, please contact us, or report it anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
