We are appealing for witnesses after a 15-year-old girl was subjected to a sexual assault in Ashtead Park.
The assault occurred either on the 6, 7 or 8 June and took place near to the lake between 2pm and 4pm. The victim encountered the suspect walking past her with his dog on multiple occasions and on the fifth occasion he followed her and touched her inappropriately.
The suspect is described as a White man, about 5 ft 9 or 5ft 10 tall and in his late 40s or 50s. He is described as being of large build with hair on the side of his head. The suspect was wearing round black glasses, a blue shirt, brown trousers and New Balance trainers. He was walking a small grey dog on a lead.
DC Michael Barker said: “This was a frightening assault for a young girl who has recently come forward to tell us what happened. We’re doing everything we can to identify the perpetrator and we’re appealing to anyone who regularly walks in Ashtead Park to consider if they may know this man.
“We’re also conducting additional patrols in the area to provide reassurance to residents using the park.”
