Witness appeal following fatal fire in Stanwell

We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal fire in Stanwell last night (Saturday, 11 February).

Emergency services were called to a garage on Argosy Lane just before midnight where the body of a woman in her 50s was sadly found. The woman has yet to be formally identified but her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death which at this stage is being treated as unexplained. A cordon is in place along Argosy Lane and officers from Surrey Police and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service will remain at the scene today as they carry out enquiries.
