Four behind bars as ‘Barry’ and ‘Dexter’ county lines shut down

Four men have been sentenced to a combined total of 17 years imprisonment for drugs offences.

On Tuesday, 31 May 2022, Monsef Hajezada and Mustafa Jeylani were stopped by police on Upper Way, Farnham. They were found in possession of 35 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, which they had attempted to discard by throwing them out of the car window.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled Class A drugs. Enquiries found them to be operating the ‘Dexter’ county drug line, and they were both charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. During the investigation, officers discovered that Hajezada had also been operating the county drugs line, ‘Barry’, out of Newham in London from February to May 2022. Muhammed Ahmed and Ibad Sajid were acting as runners to help him deal crack cocaine and heroin in Surrey.

On Wednesday, 13 July 2022, a warrant was conducted at Muhammad Ahmed’s home address, where he was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. He was later charged with the same offence.

A warrant was also conducted at Ibad Sajid’s home address on the same day. He wasn’t at home, but crack cocaine, heroin and cutting agents were found when the property was searched. After evading police for two weeks, Sajid was found leaving an address in Essex on Wednesday, 3 August 2022. When the address was searched, just under £10,000 cash was found. Sajid was arrested and later charged with being concerned in the supply of controlled Class A drugs.

Hajezada, Jeylani and Ahmed all pled guilty at court in 2022. Sajid pled not guilty and went to trial in January 2023, where he changed his plea during the trial, before also being found guilty by a jury.

Monsef Hajezada, 25, of Second Avenue, Newham, was sentenced to seven years and two months for being concerned in the supply of controlled Class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin, on Friday, 16 June 2023.

Mustafa Jeylani, 27, of Shipwright Street, Newham, was sentenced to three years and six months for being concerned in the supply of controlled Class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin, on Friday, 16 June 2023.

Ibad Sajid, 24, of Mayville Road, Ilford, was sentenced to three years and three months for being concerned in the supply of controlled Class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin, on Thursday, 23 February 2023.

Muhammed Ahmed, 23, of Green Street, Newham, was sentenced to three years, four months, and two weeks imprisonment for being concerned in the supply of controlled Class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin, on Thursday, 10 November 2022.
