We are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in West Ewell on Monday, 24 July.
Officers were called at 5.15pm following a report of a stabbing, which is believed to have taken place in the vicinity of Wey Court, West Ewell.
There were also multiple reports of a group of people fighting in the street, believed to be linked to the stabbing.
The victim was treated in hospital for stab wounds.
Enquiries are underway to locate the suspect/s, and we are appealing to anyone who has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage around the time of the incident, or any other information, to come forward.
Detective Inspector Tom Griffin said: “The incident was reported to us as large groups of people fighting with weapons. We would like to reassure the local community that we are treating this extremely seriously and a number of enquiries are underway to establish exactly what has taken place and to identify any suspects involved. However, we cannot do this alone and need anyone with any information to come forward straightaway.”
