Caught red handed in the middle of a deal in Camberley, a drug dealer now finds himself facing over two years behind bars as a result.
Redon Allbani, 27, from Shinfield Road, Reading was spotted by officers while on patrol at around 8.50pm on Thursday, 20 April driving a silver Peugeot 308 near to the Meadows roundabout where he picked up a male passenger. The vehicle then drove 100 yards down a service road where the same passenger was seen getting out of the car. Officers suspected that this was a drugs deal.
Officers followed the vehicle until they found a suitable location for it to be stopped. Allbani was the only person in the car and when he got out of the driver’s side, he had an iPhone in his hand unlocked and open on a WhatsApp message thread. This was suspected to be a drug dealing chat and the defendant was arrested under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. A search of the vehicle then uncovered £240 in cash and an empty can of Red Bull which contained three bags of suspected Cocaine.
Allbani appeared at Guildford Crown Court yesterday (Thursday, 17 August) where he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and was sentenced to two years, six months imprisonment.
Investigating Officer, PC David Oliver, said: “Drugs are a scourge on our society; they cause harm to everyone who comes into contact with them. Allbani was out to make himself a profit from other people’s suffering and I welcome the courts sentencing of him. Drugs have no place in Surrey.”
