We are appealing for witnesses after a van driver was robbed as he parked in a lay-by in Caterham yesterday (Wednesday,13 September) at around 6.15am.
The victim had left his vehicle briefly after he pulled over southbound on the A22, about 200 metres from where the Caterham bypass meets the dual carriageway of the A22.
The driver was approached by two male suspects who shouted at him to come to them and showed him what he believed to be the handle of a knife. The victim ran in the opposite direction looking for help.
After taking items from the van, the suspects left in a vehicle down nearby Tillingdown Lane.
The suspects have been described as two Black men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
Were you travelling southbound along the A22 on Wednesday morning at around 6.15am? Do you have any CCTV, dashcam or helmet cam footage that might assist our enquiries?
