We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Effingham earlier this evening (3 January), which has left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.
The collision, involving a motorcycle and a car, took place on the A246 Guildford Road at the junction with Beech Avenue in Effingham around 4.35pm.
The motorcyclist is currently being treated in hospital. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. A passenger in the car also suffered minor injuries.
The roads at the crossroads are all currently closed and are likely to remain so for some time, and we would ask motorists to avoid the area while we deal with this incident.
We would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation so far.
We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or with any dashcam footage or any other information, to come forward. If you can help, please contact us via live chat by clicking to your right quoting reference PR/SYP-20240103-0497.
