A prolific burglar has been imprisoned for over three years for burglary offences in Woking.
Jesse Webb, 48, (DOB 24.07.75), of Melrose Avenue, Mitcham, was sentenced to three years and four months for theft and burglary when he appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday (28 May).
On Wednesday, 21 February, a property was broken into on Old Woking Road in West Byfleet via the back patio door. A wallet and bank cards were stolen and one of the cards was immediately used to buy 10 packets of cigarettes.
One week later, on Wednesday 28 February, a property was targeted on Heathside Road in Woking where jewellery and bank cards were stolen. The suspect was seen on CCTV walking up the neighbouring driveway and then climbing over the fence and into the victim’s garden. He was seen trying to gain entry via a set of back doors that were locked before finding one that was open. He disappeared inside for about five minutes before leaving back over the fence via the neighbour’s drive.
Webb was identified via the CCTV and linked to a series of other offences. He was arrested at his home address and charged with burglary and theft to which he pleaded guilty.
Investigating officer PC Luke Lightburn, said: “Jesse Webb caused significant distress and financial loss to the victims he burgled. These were serious offences, committed with a disregard for the impact breaking into somebody’s home can have. He has rightly been given a custodial sentence and we continue to pursue criminals who conspire to commit offences of this nature in Surrey.”
