We are appealing for witnesses following an assault in West Horsley.
Officers were called shortly after 3pm yesterday afternoon (14 May) after a report of a woman being attacked by a man while she was out walking a dog in woodland just past the railway bridge at the end of Lollesworth Lane.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and common assault. He remains in police custody at this time.
You will notice an increased police presence in West Horsley while we carry out our enquiries over the coming days, alongside proactive reassurance patrols in the area. If you have any safety concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to our officers when you see them.
We are looking to speak to anyone who might have been in the area around Lollesworth Lane between 2.15pm and 3.25pm yesterday afternoon and who might have seen anything suspicious during this time.
