We are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in West Molesey last Friday.
Officers were called to Hurst Park on Friday, 26 July at around 11.30pm after a man in his 50s was assaulted whilst fishing at the side of the River Thames. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Investigating officer DC Claire Catcheside said, “This was a vicious assault that appears to have been completely unprovoked and left the victim with serious injuries.
“We believe that there were people on the river nearby who may have witnessed this assault. We would like to speak to anyone with information that could help us identify those responsible.”
Were you in the area around Hurst Park on Friday, 26 July between 10pm and 11pm? Do you have CCTV, dash cam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of the incident?
