Update: Man found with serious head injury in Woking has sadly died
A man who was found with a serious head injury after being assaulted in Woking earlier this month has sadly died.
The 41-year-old local man identified as Artur Beblot was found unconscious just before 6am in Chertsey Road on Sunday, 1 October.
He was taken to hospital but sadly died from his injuries on 11 October.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Paddy Mayers from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, who is leading the investigation, said: “My team is continuing to investigate a number of lines of enquiry and I would like to reassure the Woking community that we are doing everything possible to establish the exact circumstances which led to this horrific attack, as well as identify the suspect and ensure that they are brought to justice.
“We believe that the victim had been in some sort of altercation with his assailant prior to being attacked around 5am. We also believe that this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the Woking community. We are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw anything, or with any information, to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
