We look forward to welcoming you to Surrey Police's 2022 Open Day, the first of its kind since 2014.
You can register for our free tickets on Eventbrite.
Below are the answers to some questions you may have about the event.
To read our Terms of Entry, please click here.
The Open Day will be taking place on Sunday 11 September on the fields of Surrey Police’s Headquarters - Mount Browne, GU3 1LH. The event entrance will be via The Ridges.
General admission for the Open Day is from 11am-4pm, with the Anna of Avondale dog trials taking place from 12pm-3pm.
Accessibility tickets can be booked for those that would prefer to visit at a quieter time, between 10am-11am.
Last entry is at 3pm with the event closing at 4pm.
There will be free parking at the Artington Park and Ride, GU3 1LP. This is 5 minutes walk to the event entrance, via The Ridges. Vehicles are left at your own risk. A limited amount of onsite parking is available for Blue Badge holders and via pre-registration only.
Guildford train station is about 30 minutes’ walk away. Buses are available from Guildford town centre with a bus stop located by the entrance to The Ridges.
Tickets to the event can be booked via Eventbrite. There are two ticket types: general admission and accessibility admission. Please make sure to correctly select the ticket type you need - accessibility tickets are very limited in number and should only be booked by those with additional needs or disabilities.
Only those who have booked and can present their E-tickets will be allowed to enter. Tickets can be booked until 2pm on the day although we highly recommend booking as soon as possible as we may run out before then. Visit our Eventbrite to find out more.
Tickets are free! However, you must register via Eventbrite with your name and email address. We will have collection buckets around the site to support this year’s Chief’s charity, The Big Leaf Foundation – donations are optional. There will be catering vans which you will need to pay for but are welcome to bring your own food or a picnic. Parking at the Artington Park and Ride will be free.
Please bring a copy of your ticket either printed or electronic. We will have a team on the gate who will facilitate your entry to the event. Please be aware there may be random bag searches.
We don’t know what the weather will be yet but please come prepared – rain or shine – with raincoats, sun cream, hats etc.
The show must go on! Unless there are specific weather warnings in place or it would be dangerous to go ahead with the event, the Open Day will still run during rain.
You certainly can! You can grab a bite to eat at our catering vans. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own food with you and eat at our designated picnic space.
Alcohol is prohibited on site. We will have caterers on site serving water, soft drinks, tea, and coffee.
Yes! We will have picnic spaces for you to enjoy your own food at, either at tables or you are welcome to bring a picnic blanket.
Yes! There will be lots to keep children entertained, from police vehicles, puppy meet and greets, and the chance to be a detective! Children must be supervised at all times.
Unfortunately, we will not be allowing pet dogs at the event. Assistance dogs are of course permitted but please have them in a harness and clean up after them responsibly.
Yes, seating will be provided in our large dining marquee as well as benches and picnic tables around the field.
We are unable to provide a space for you to drop off any personal items. Any personal items must be kept with you at all times. Any unattended items may be removed.
In the very unlikely event that the Open Day is cancelled we will contact ticket holders via email and share information on our social media pages.
A number of safety and risk assessments have taken place in advance of the event to ensure it runs as safely and securely as possible. The event management team will be on site during the day to oversee the running, and a number of colleagues will be on hand to help with any queries or concerns you may have.
There will be no vehicles moving around the event site unless directly supervised by Surrey Police teams and there will be a first aid point with medical assistance facilitated by St John Ambulance.
We are aiming for our event to be as inclusive as possible for those with additional needs or disabilities. This includes using the first hour of the Open Day (10am-11am) as an accessible hour which will be limited to 100 people who need to attend during a quieter and less crowded environment. You can book an accessible hour ticket here.
There will also be a quiet space on site for anyone to use if they need to get away from the crowds for a little while.
A small number of disabled parking spaces are available to Blue Badge holders and is bookable through the general admission ticket on Eventbrite. Please ensure you complete the relevant form to secure your parking.
A range of accessible facilities will be available including a Mobiloo which provides a large, clean toilet and changing space with hoist for those that may need it.
You can send us a direct message on Facebook, and someone will get back to you.
